The Gospel Paul Preached

Galatians 1:11-17; NKJV

11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.

12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13 For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.

14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace,

16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,

17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

The gospel Paul preached was revealed to him by Jesus Christ.  He didn't write it himself.  It wasn't taught him by another person.

The gospel Paul preached was the gospel of Jesus Christ, revealed to him by Jesus Christ Himself.  We can have confidence that the gospel Paul preached is the gospel that will lead us to Jesus because He received it from Jesus.

Why the Gospel of Christ Matters

Galatians 1:1-10; NKJV

1 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),

2 and all the brethren who are with me,

To the churches of Galatia:

3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,

7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

To turn away from the gospel of Christ to a different gospel is to turn away from Him.  The facts, commands and promises of the gospel of Christ matter.  If you turn away from the doctrine of Christ, you are turning away from Him.

Greet

Philippians 4:21-23; NKJV

21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you.

22 All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar's household.

23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Greet - aspazomai - to enfold in the arms, to salute, to welcome (Strong's); to draw to oneself, to salute one, greet, bid welcome, wish well to (Thayer's).

Greetings to every saint who reads these words of the Spirit!

God's Work Done God's Way

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever.  Amen." (Philippians 4:19-20; NKJV)

When God's work is done God's way it will never lack God's supply.

Contentment and Christ

Philippians 4:10-13; NKJV

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Contentment has to do with satisfaction.  Is it possible to be satisfied with your state in life, whether you have a lot or a little?  If you have Christ strengthening you, then all things are possible.

Hidden in My Heart

And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king's words that he had spoken to me. So they said, "Let us rise up and build." Then they set their hands to this good work. (Nehemiah 2:18; NKJV)

Meditate on These Things

Philippians 4:8-9; NKJV

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.

9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

If we mediate on these things and learn and receive the Apostolic doctrine and do them, the God of peace will be with us.

If we think on other things and we don't learn and receive the Apostolic doctrine and do them, the God of peace will not be with us.

Mediate on these things...
